This has been my favorite song on Phil Ade’s mix tape since I had it from the last Sneaker Pimps event last summer. My friend Imani has a cameo in the video, go IMANI! =)

Ok so I get an email from Urban Daddy. You can only imagine how many emails I get a day which is why I check my email so often to delete what is CRAP/JUNK! LOL! Well anyway there is a company called Cairo Wine and Liquor and these geniuses came up with an idea to deliver wine, beer, and “spirits” (that word cracks me up every time).
You could be on a date or too lazy or it’s just too cold to go for a beer or wine run, so check out DC Wine Guy and they will deliver to you for free if you are in the DC area. I am not sure of their limitations but this is an EXCELENTE! idea if I do say so myself.
For those that were a fashion major and took a class with me where I created an idea quite similar (I am slapping myself now by the way). Two chicks created a company called Ginger Root. They took the idea I had just one step further but almost exactly the same….KUDOS TO THEM! is all I can say.
Here is a summary and what they have to offer.
Check out Ginger Root, a new and unique boutique on the U Street corridor. They work with clothing that may be hard to let go, but need an update, by either re-cutting or completely re-imagining the garment. The boutique also features local artists and jewelry designers as well as the shop owners eco-friendly label, ReVamp. Proprietors Kristen and Erin personally work on the items and offer sewing classes around the basics like fixing hems. Hours: Monday, Thursday-Saturday: 12-7 pm, Sunday 1-6 pm.

I think I might re up on some sewing classes because I am extra rusty with the sewing and I have tons of fabric sitting around and it’s collecting dust.
I think Kanye has a huge role on the fashion world. Check out how feathers are about to be a huge hit this season. I actually had my eye on some feathers the day before I saw the “movie” video. I guess I just have that sense where I sense trends before they happen. It is pretty weird but it can take me far. =) Even bird jewelry is being seen thanks to Nynelyves (I hope I spelled your name right).
And so the feather top I found on Forever 21, has disappeared within a day, FIGURES……haha. I guess I’ll search the store for them on Friday….I need them in my LIFE! =)
Check out some pics I found while browsing through tumblr…..
|This is probably fur but definitely resembles a bird/feather like look to me.|
