1. What is Tailored Rebels? Where did the idea come from?
Tailored Rebels is a clothing line based out of Washington DC. The idea stemmed from my business partner who is a graphic designer and I, a stylist. We actually worked together, as federal employees, prior to launching our brand. We needed a creative outlet as our respective careers lacked the creative edge we crave.
2. What makes your brand stand out from other brands?
In an overly saturated market of complex and loud designs, we aim to keep our designs simple and clean, with the intent to represent an even greater message. We only print in smaller quantities to keep our designs exclusive to our clients. We research designs which may have been done to avoid replicating designs that are already available. Once we sell out of a design, we do not reprint. Of course there have been a few exceptions, however, that’s something else that sets us apart.
3. Who does your brand cater to?
Tailored Rebels markets to the few who exhibits extreme independence in both thought & action, those who carve their own lane, those who go against established standards and conventions, yet go about it in a very distinguished and sophisticated nature. Those who are tired of the repetitive nature of the market, those who want something more exclusive.
4. Are you sourced in the US or overseas?
Most of our products are sourced in the US. The tshirts, hoodies and crewnecks are printed on American Apparel, which are sourced in the US.
5. Any advice you would give someone that wants to start a line?
The advice I would give to anyone interested in creating their own line is to follow their passion with the understanding that there’s a lot of time and effort involved. If you’re not willing to sacrifice either of those, don’t bother. It’s A LOT of work that goes into having a line from the actual launch to doing all things possible to stay relevant and current. There will be times where you’ll want to throw in the towel and then you’ll get a friendly reminder of why you started and to continue to push forward. I will say that if you’re passionate about it, GO for it and don’t let anyone tell you it’s impossible.
6. How can we stay connected with Tailored Rebels? (Twitter, IG, website, etc)
