Who doesn’t love entering contests? I know I do and I barely win them. Well this go round, I get an email that I won $40 to spend at the new restaurant called Dunya Restaurant and Bar. This restaurant serves Modern American cuisine with a global Mediterranean twist. It is such a cute spot. I could see so many events happening here. There is a rooftop with an awesome view of U Street. The night my friend and I went, it was a beautiful sunset.
The month of September was promising for me. I had the most Sunday’s off in a row ever! I definitely haven’t been wasting any of my Sunday’s. I had plans on hitting a brunch that I got a deal for on Gilt City. The mexican restaurant is called Casa Oaxaca (wa-Ha-ca). I probably walked pass this place over a million times and just didn’t pay attention.
I walked in a little earlier than my friend I was meeting. I got to scope out the small but cute spot. We had the choice of any breakfast entrée and unlimited mimosas, sangria, or bloody mary. They started us off with a sweet bread that could be dipped in jelly or butter but I dipped in both. It was delicious. I picked the breakfast burrito for my entrée and my friend got the steak with a side of eggs and potato hash. I don’t remember the exact name of her dish but that steak was the best steak I’ve had in a very long time. My burrito was delicious as well.
I had a Sunday off which meant, Sunday Funday. I was trying to figure out what to do and then I remembered it was Adams Morgan Day. This day brings various clothing, art, and food vendors. They block off most of the streets in Adams Morgan which only happens on this day. I met up with a friend of mine and her precious son. We had a pretty good time with all the music and people to see.
I brought my camera with me and decided to snap away. I knew there would be tons to see.
I am here to broaden your horizon by showing you and letting you know that denim shirts can be tucked, worn underneath dresses, with leather and more. The sky is the limit!
