While strolling with friends this past weekend trying to figure out where we were eating and grabbing a drink or two, we stumbled upon Woodward Table. This place has a weekend happy hour. It’s not a huge selection but a solid selection. They have an amazing Sangria. The happy hour featured small plates are pretty good also.
I started off with the ribs which were actually a pretty good portion. It wasn’t too big or too small of a portion. They were delicious! I’m not a huge rib eater but I will be back for these.
Next was a dish that came with crackers, pickled vegetables, and a ham concoction. I can’t remember the exact description, sorry! But it was pretty good for something to munch on.
The service here was by far some of the best I’ve experienced in DC. That alone made the experience that much more appealing. I would definitely have this as a recommendation especially with the beautiful outdoor seating and scenery.
I made it out to Lost Society for the umpteenth time but this time I decided to try a few more dishes I had never tried before. They have recently started a Tuesday night happy hour that is awesome because you can sit on the roof and watch the sunset.
The social bites are all half off during their happy hour and there some amazing choices. I ordered the chili and soy wings that is made with mustard seeds and scallions. Love these wings. I also ordered carmelized cauliflower because I am a huge fan of cauliflower as of a few years ago. I love them well seasoned. They just take on any flavor they are paired with. This particular dish is made with romesco sauce, roasted fennel, parmesan, and scallion oil. And last but not least, I got the mac n cheese which I am a sucker for. I could eat a whole dish of it by my myself. Their mac n cheese is made with smoked gouda, gruyere, cheddar, and fontina. It was amazing.
I didn’t have one bad dish or drink. This is always a good go to spot for any occasion.
Tis the season for shirt dresses. I love the versatility of shirt dresses. I think I need to go hunt down some of these because my wardrobe has become very simple and staple related. I want pieces I can wear multiple ways and for various occasions.
When bloggers that love to eat and enjoy scenery want to hang out, where do we go? But of course, Maketto. This is the new hot spot on H Street NE. We met up on a Sunday for “brunch”. They actually don’t have any major brunch dishes but by the time we got there, it was well into the lunch hours. The set up of this place is perfect. I feel like I am somewhere else, not even in the US. I love the open space and the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. I felt very welcome which you don’t get everywhere.
