She Won!!

I won’t talk about many times I had to re-write this post because WordPress doesn’t save drafts!!!! Ok well back on a good note, I started a new job and I have been busy! I don’t know where time went and I’ve been missing out on blog posts. I promise to be a little more consistent.

Well I entered a contest with 930 Club to win a night out with Little Dragon. And to my surprise, I won! I always let friends reap the benefits of my win so I invited one of my friends to enjoy. I won two tickets, four drink tickets to Rural Society which is connected to Loews Madison Hotel, and some credits from Hailo (come back to the U.S., please and thanks) to and from the concert. Girls Season 3 Premiere

eye-girls-premiere01Picture from WWD

Thanks to Shecky’s I was able to attend the premiere of Season 3 of Girls.  The show has been my favorite since it started. It’s such a wild show and it takes place in New York City.  These girls are not Sex and City glam girls which I love about it.  These girls go through losing jobs, not getting the jobs they want, guy issues, and more. I love it!  Continue reading

Jazz in the Garden

The National Gallery of Art is having free jazz nights from 5pm to 8pm on every Friday throughout the summer. It sounds really nice and I actually saw pictures from someone that went, looks kind of romantic. I think I might have to bring some wine and go to this event with some of my friends. This would be a such a great way to wind down a week.

Tuesday’s Eventful Evening

I started off at Simply Shoes right after work and met the talented Kassie Rempel who is the owner/founder of Simply Soles. She had her grand opening of her second Simple Soles at Georgetown Mall. The set up was really cute, it made me feel like I was at a beach house with the greens and pinks along with the wooden floor. I took a look at the shoes that were available there and they had a pretty cool selection. She had my all time favorite rain boot, Tretorn. She had them in black and pink, the pink ones were fun and different. I might have to get that pair soon. Her merchandise can be viewed at simplysoles.com

The next event was at Tabaq on U st which is where I got to meet another business owner named Lynice Williams. She has a vintage line called DMVntage. She has some pretty cool pieces and they are pretty reasonably priced. For more info on her vintage pieces, email her at  Lynice@DMVntage.com

Next up with having some pretty unqiue pieces was Marc Clark. He had foxtails which can be worn however you fashionably desire, bowtie brooches and shades that are apparently made out of brass and are dope, dope, and dope. Check out my picture with Marc and me in his brass shades. More of his merchandise can be viewed at www.marcclark.com

Before leaving the great event, I got to meet an amazing artist and his name was Moe. His work was pretty amazing and he was selling pieces for $20 but I am on a no shopping diet for 31 days so my purchase had to be put off. His work was really good….I mean wow…take a look for yourself at the pictures below. To see more of his work go to www.moeartdesign.com

TURN THE LIGHTS OFF! SHH!!!

Date nights are some of the things that us young people like to do especially in the summer, but I would probably go to a movie with mi amigas but it is so dag on expensive these days. Well I found out about some free stuff which will be happening starting TONIGHT at the Harrison Rec Center (on V between 13 and 14th Streets) Washington, DC 20009. Gates open at 7 pm, movie will start at sundown around 8:30. Free popcorn for the first 100 people. They will be showing four great music-related films to pay homage to U Street’s musical past – first up this Tuesday, Michael Jackson’s ‘This Is It’.
