Washington DC– August 8, 2017. Rum Day DC is back this year with “Rum This Block!” Rum Day DC is an annual celebration in its sixth year which affords a mix of the rum industry’s specialty and top brands, consumers, the rum-curious and enthusiasts alike. Technically the holiday takes place on August 16th. Rum Day DC celebrations provide numerous brands with a unique opportunity to educate consumers while promoting and celebrating the wide variety of flavors and versatility offered by the sugar cane based spirit (although honey and molasses based rums have also been introduced).Continue reading →
As you all should know by now, Restaurant Week in DC has begun. My first stop was R.P.M. Because I’ve been dying to try the full on entrees there. I did get to check out R.P.M. with a special event that Trunk Club hosted some time ago in their bar, lounge area which is beautiful! Continue reading →
Find the beast behind the button-down. On Wednesday, April 20th (tee-hee!) we’re gettin’ down, Downtown!
We’re doing an experiment. Bring your boo, bae, or bestie for just $18 and swap the date night with the sunrise. Claire Salvo is on the decks, Les Greene is on the mic, and the magic is on the dance floor.
If you all haven’t seen, I’m a huge fan of Daybreaker. I love how they came up with a concept to do yoga and then party afterwards all before 9am. So be sure to get some rest the night before. The yoga is some of the best yoga I’ve ever done and you feel amazing afterwards. They have tons of snacks and healthy drinks to keep your energy up and you feeling food. The dancing is my favorite part, of course. The DJ spins high energy music, live musicians, and the MC Haile Supreme keeps everyone active. I have included deets below about how you can participate in something like you’ve never done before.
// Wednesday, March 23rd
// Pre-Dance Yoga: 6 – 7 am / Dance Party: 7 – 9 am
// Malmaison — 3401 Water St NW
// DJ Claire Salvo + MC Haile Supreme
// Free coffee, juice, & breakfast treats

I’ve personally been curious about this Daybreaker event. I kept seeing it pop up on Snapchat or on Instagram and I couldn’t help but be slightly intrigued. Well guess what?! It’s back again this Wednesday!! It is an event that includes yoga, dancing, music, and amazing high energy all before 9am. It is a healthy and fun wake up call. I’m in!
I decided to put together looks for various Thanksgiving gatherings. Some of us will be meeting up with family and that tends to be more of a casual look which leads me to the right or left outfit being appropriate for that. If you are going to a friendsgiving, you might spruce it up by wearing the look on the left. If you’re going to a Thanksgiving dinner with the new beaux, the middle look could be the perfect option. Just remember to give thanks and wear something that makes you feel good. *wink*
On Wednesday, there will be an awesome Family& Friends event being hosted by Elle of EatStylePlay.com. We will be having a VC Watch giveaway! There will be champagne to wind down your evening and enjoy. We have some great pieces in! Event starts at 6pm!

The month of September was promising for me. I had the most Sunday’s off in a row ever! I definitely haven’t been wasting any of my Sunday’s. I had plans on hitting a brunch that I got a deal for on Gilt City. The mexican restaurant is called Casa Oaxaca (wa-Ha-ca). I probably walked pass this place over a million times and just didn’t pay attention.
I walked in a little earlier than my friend I was meeting. I got to scope out the small but cute spot. We had the choice of any breakfast entrée and unlimited mimosas, sangria, or bloody mary. They started us off with a sweet bread that could be dipped in jelly or butter but I dipped in both. It was delicious. I picked the breakfast burrito for my entrée and my friend got the steak with a side of eggs and potato hash. I don’t remember the exact name of her dish but that steak was the best steak I’ve had in a very long time. My burrito was delicious as well.
I did yet another getaway but to Jersey Shore this go round and I was about 30 minutes from Atlantic City. It was a super interesting experience because it was almost like another land. Their weren’t any black people there so we were looked at like aliens on occasion which was so weird. It wasn’t even diverse. I know there are places where only one race live but I’m so used to diversity, it was a shocker.
