Joseph Singh S/S 2016 Presentation

I had the pleasure of attending one NYFW event thanks to Fab Fashion Report. I was surfing Twitter one early morning while in New York visiting my best friend and they were looking for coverage for two shows. I had no plans and decided why not.

I got a ticket to the Joseph Singh Spring/Summer 2016 Presentation. The pieces were very well made and had a lot of structure to them. They gave me the feel of masculinity mixed with femininity.

I snapped some shots of the looks from Joseph Singh collection. I also caught some fashionable guests that attended. Enjoy!

NY Eats: Yatenga French Bistro & Bar

So for my last day in NY, I was determined to try one last restaurant and make it to a happy hour. Yatenga French Bistro & Bar was a must check out. They have an awesome happy hour from 4pm to 8pm. I usually don’t go for white wine but the white wine I tried was amazing.

They started us out with bread and olive oil which was so good. The bread was fresh and warm.

The main dish was huge. We went for the Chef Special Gambas which comes with shrimp, macaroni, bechamel, parmesan cheese, spinach, mushroom, ham, and garlic sauce. The chef knew my best friend and I were newbies to the spot so they brought it out on two different plates. It was so much food and they didn’t skimp on the shrimp. Lol! Very good and very fresh food.

I also tried their frozen margarita which was soooo good. I thought I was tired once I made it to my bus to head back to DC but it had me pass out at soon as I sat on the bus. Lol!

I’m Watching You!

I'm Watching You!

This look was actually inspired by the sunglasses and then it went from there. I hope you all enjoy this look as much as I do. This is giving me Spring because outdoors is giving me no hope at all!

New York Fashion Week February 2015

I made my way to New York thanks to my friend Lauren of DollCirca1930 having an amazing event planned . She did a pop up for her birthday in New York at a chic art gallery. The set up was perfect. I was so proud of Lauren. I’m getting very emotional right now because I remember pushing my friend to start her jewelry line and to see how far she has come, I’m oh so proud.

This Skinny Girl Likes to Eat Too Edition

I made my way to NYC about a week ago. Always a great escape and tons of new places to eat and explore. The first stop was Tao after kidnapping my best friend after his amazing show iLuminate. If you’ve never been to a show, you have to check it out!

Tao is humongous. I was a little overwhelmed when I walked in but in a good way. They have so many huge statues of buddhas to make you feel as if you are in another world. It’s beautiful and the service is superb. The food was delicious! I ordered a chicken pad thai and I was full once I was done. I hate spending more than usual on food and still feeling hungry once I’m finished. I also ordered a Lychee Martini. I love anything with Lychee, it reminds me of a pear.

NYFW Day 1

I made my way to New York City on Sunday to escape to one of the most amazing events, New York Fashion Week and to catch up with as many friends as possible since I don’t get to escape to New York often. I started my Sunday off with brunch at Macondo which was once one of my favorite places but a lot has changed over a year or two there. The unlimited mimosas went from $7 to $11 and the food was just different. I enjoyed the company of my friends but when places change, I am totally turned off by it. My friends were amazing to catch up with and of course we had some photo opts, it’s only right! LOL!

Ok this weekend was cool but I missed out on a lot of things due to running late and not thinking things through. Well anyway I arrived in NYC on Friday, Sept 9th and was soooo ready to partake in the festivities. The first stop I made was at a nail shop where I got a $12 pedicure and they did a pretty good job. We then started to get ready for our evening which was over booked and we missed out on a lot of events. We made it to Triple L Society opening of his shop which was cool and they had some nice pieces.

Getting our weekend plans together.
School Band was amazing! =)

We left this event to try to make it to the Blogger event but we were way too late and went to Rebel which is where we stayed for all of 5 minutes because it was a mess. We later when to Tammany which was the best idea ever! This DJ went all the way in!!!! I mean we partied! I had a blast!

Stopped here for food and it was amazing!!!!!

Funnest (made up word) cab ride ever!

Me and James
Love This!

Best DJ EVER!!!!
The next day I got up at 9:30am and had to be at Custo Barcelona to intern at 10am. We were running a little late but what an amazing opportunity. I was acting as PR for the day and calling all kinds of people to confirm their attendance. It was pretty awesome but a long, long day. I was supposed to attend a show with my friend but I got us all turned around and we missed it. =( I felt bad.

We decided we still wanted to head out so we went to the Hudson Hotel for the after party for Eva Minge and it was an amazing location. The location was called the Library and they had books made into the wall. Outside was somewhat like a greenhouse/garden It was so relaxing and the bartender made us an amazing drink! It was way too yummy!
Mika looking fantab!

When then met up with our friend Shannon at a spot where Manny Fresh was DJ-ing and it turned out to be pretty fun. He played some super old stuff but it was fun! It was so much random funny stuff going on around us which made the night super funny.

GET IT!!!!
My last day in NY was a rush as usual but I got to do everything I wanted this day. I went to brunch with friends at a new spot called Agave which was awesome! I shall be back and hopefully next time the blender works so I can get frozen margaritas. After this I went on my hunt for the Marc Jacobs accessory store to realize it was closed and they combined it with another store. I did find a cool necklace that I got. I also got pulled and convinced to buy some body scrub, we shall see how great it is once I get a chance to try it. It smells really good!

After staying in Soho area for a while, I had to make sure I sure I stopped at the Lincoln Center. Check out my fashionable finds there. =)

Bob from An Unknown Quality

And then a water show began, it was pretty awesome.

This necklace!!!!

This was a sum up of my trip, hope you enjoyed. =)

My Alexander McQueen Adventure

From the lyrics of Nicki Minaj, “I came up in it a little bit self centered
but did I kill a Queen, Alexander McQueen’s got a wrist on glow” which makes me just ponder why most don’t know who Alexander McQueen is. So many rappers have referenced this amazing designer.

Well anyway just wanted to give a little tid bit before I dabble into my adventurous Friday. I was supposed to escape to NYC early Friday but due to a late night Thursday, that didn’t quite happen. I regrouped and got myself together and headed out and ended up catching the 12:15pm bus which was way later than I planned. The buses air went out about 45 mins away from NY but as soon as we got to NY, we were in standstill traffic, it was crazy and it was torture.

When I finally got there, my phone was dead and I had to make rational decisions because I didn’t know if my friend had not come to meet me or not, but he was there and everything went as planned. We headed to the MET museum where the line was wrapped around the beautiful fountain. We waited here for about 20 minutes and when we entered the museum, it was somewhat calm chaos. We didn’t know where to get our tickets to get into the exhibit so we finally discovered that and we headed to the line where it said a 2 hour wait! O_O!!!! But I had to see this exhibit, it was a must!

So we talked the entire time about whatever which made time go by without paying it major attention, after about an hour and a half, there is another sign that says an hour wait and I am like no way!!! So this line actually goes way faster than expected and before we know it, we are inside the exhibit!!!!

I mean I wish I could describe to you everything I saw but there is no way. The room you first enter are his most basic pieces with suiting jackets with exaggerated lapels, or 50 bottoms. I mean his detailing was out of this world! The next room you enter is dark and gothic like with leather and black feather dresses and then there is a case that I snuck a picture of with a gold feathered dress that is to die for! From here you enter the room of his pieces that were standouts in various shows. They have video playing of various shows and their is this robotic sound playing that sounds like they are saying numbers. The one that stood out the most the video of two machines looking as if they were about to attack this frightened model that had on a white puff dress (this description sucks but can’t think of another way to describe it) and she is spinning in the middle of the machines and they start spraying her as if she is a canvas with two different spray paint colors. It was pretty dope and creepy and theatrical. From here my mind blurs….it was sooooo much to see in there….like wow! I hope some of my descriptions take you on my journey.

Here are some pictures:::::
